Job Summary:

• The purpose of the SPC General Maintenance is to be responsible for assisting or repairing machines as needed throughout the plant.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preferred knowledge of Extrusion, printing, and profiling machines
• Must have experience with chains, sprockets, and bearings of different sizes and configurations
• Knowledge of air compressors, chillers, and conveyor systems is a plus
• Must be self-motivated and have problem-solving skills
• Electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to use a multi-meter and amp clamp are a plus
• Proficient use of welding equipment and cutting torches.
• Must be able to supply hand tools
• Mechanical troubleshooting, with basic knowledge of electrical systems.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

• Must be willing to work 12 12-hour swing shifts, 7 pm to 7 am
• Must have 3-year maintenance experience
• Lifting is required, varies per shift. (Tools, parts, etc., weights of 1 to 100 pounds, 0 - 100 times per shift.)
• Standing is required, varies per shift. (1 to 50 times per shift for intervals of 5 minutes to 10 hours.)
• Reaching is required, varies per shift. (Tools, parts, etc., 1 to 50 times per hour.)
• Stooping is required, varies per shift. (1 to 20 times per hour for intervals of 1 minute to 1 hour.)
• Bending is required, varies per shift. (For tools, parts, to do work 1 to 30 times per hour.)
• Must operate hand, power, and shop tools, varies per shift, (1 to 50 times per shift).
• Must be able to distinguish color shade differences.

Experience/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Must be able to do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication

Other Requirements:

• Overtime is required on occasion.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
• All accidents must be reported immediately.
• Normal mobility, no abnormal fear of heights or confined spaces.
