General Summary
Assistant Manager is responsible for managing and directing all maintenance activities. Also, the assistant manager is responsible for meeting maintenance targets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct and manage assigned maintenance Group Leaders.
- Reports on daily activities and operation status.
- Create and maintain weekly and monthly reports on efficiency and team member training and skill level.
- Oversee GL and MTM training plan to achieve required skill level.
- Oversee activities to create and encourage a positive team environment.
- Create an action plan to achieve the maintenance downtime target.
- Establish and implement a preventative maintenance system.
- Create a system to prevent safety and environmental problems.
- Prepare and execute an action plan to achieve the yearly operation plan.
- Follow all emergency policies.
- Manage and monitor the purchasing, distribution, and inventory control of maintenance material (including tools, subsidiary materials, oil, etc.).
- Develop and maintain a spare parts tracking system.
- Create and maintain an open door policy with team members and resolve problems in a timely efficient manner.
- Evaluate and mentor team members to encourage continuous improvement.
- Direct and manage assigned maintenance Group Leaders.

Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or related field along with five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in the maintenance field responsible for automation in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Ability to understand schematics and specifications of electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to travel domestic and internationally.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with SAP system preferred.
- Experience managing a maintenance team in an automotive environment is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with PLC programming (AB or Siemens).
- Experience with automation, design, installation, and repair of equipment.
