This 80-hour, self-paced online course is an accelerated path towards becoming a CNC Machinist. This course is only available to successful completers of Mechatronics and Robotics Maintenance. This course gives Mechatronics completers the opportunity to get certification in the entire CNC Machinist skill path with only 80 hours of additional study.
Accelerator: CNC Machinist gives you the skills needed to begin work in the in-demand field of machining. It focuses on industrial safety; print reading, dimensioning, measurement, and tools; mechanical systems; hydraulic and pneumatic systems; machining processes, milling, and turning; piping; rigging; basic welding techniques; and maintenance and troubleshooting.
This course uses formal learning, videos, and hands-on virtual simulations. It is assessed by a final quiz on each individual module. Learners need to achieve 80% or higher on each final quiz to successfully complete the course and will have three attempts to pass each quiz. Learners can work at their own pace, and a learner who spends 10 hours a week on the course will complete the first course in approximately 8 weeks.
After This Course, You Will Be Able To- Analyze and select appropriate mechanical drive systems (belt drives, chain drives, V-belt drives, and multiple shaft gear drives) based on application requirements. - Identify and demonstrate proper use of hand tools, basic measurement tools, and precision measurement instruments. - Define, analyze, and troubleshoot fluid system components and operations in both hydraulic and pneumatic systems. - Apply safety procedures and identify potential hazards in machining environments to maintain a safe workplace. - Explain the principles and describe techniques for basic welding processes. - Demonstrate understanding of fundamental machining processes including milling, turning, and drilling operations. - Perform and evaluate maintenance operations including machine monitoring, documentation, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and troubleshooting techniques. - Interpret mechanical prints including basic part dimensioning, assembly drawings, and precision dimensioning specifications. - Identify and evaluate rigging techniques and equipment including rigging concepts, lifting devices, and various sling types (wire rope, chain). - Identify and describe piping system components and installation methods for metal piping, plastic piping, metal tubing, and hoses.Skills you'll acquire
