Introduction to Mechatronics is a self-paced online course. It gives an overview of the field of advanced manufacturing and an introduction to mechatronics. It is intended for learners with little experience who are interested in industrial and maintenance roles and a career in mechatronics. The course takes approximately 35 hours to complete, and learners can work at their own pace. A learner who spends 8 hours a week on this course will complete the course in approximately 4-5 weeks.

  • Identify the role of basic math in mechatronics and complete basic operations in fractions,decimals, percentages, and basic geometry.
  • Describe procedures for accurate measurement and measurement conversion.
  • Describe key skill areas in mechatronics and explain core concepts for each, including electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical drives.
